Launched in 2022, Digitally Right’s Tech Policy Fellowship is Bangladesh’s pioneering initiative aimed at cultivating a new generation of digital rights advocates. This six-month program brings together early to mid-career professionals from law, media, academia, and civil society to delve into the intersection of technology, policy, and human rights.
Each fellowship cohort embarks on a comprehensive journey that includes in-person workshops, virtual deep-dive sessions, and expert mentoring. Fellows conduct original research on pressing issues such as data protection, online content governance, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and equitable internet access. Their findings are published in the Technology, People, and Policy series, contributing valuable insights to the discourse on digital governance in Bangladesh.
The fellowship not only enhances participants’ understanding of global and local tech policy trends but also empowers them to influence policy-making processes. By fostering a community of informed advocates, the program aims to promote a more open, inclusive, and rights-respecting digital environment in Bangladesh.
With support from Access Now the Tech Policy Fellowship continues to build a robust network of professionals committed to shaping the future of technology policy in the region.
