About us

Digitally Right is a Bangladesh-based initiative working at the intersection of technology and society. We help independent media, civil society, and at-risk communities with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to navigate the evolving information ecosystem.

Rooted in three core pillars — Digital Rights, Digital Safety, and Information Integrity — our work spans research, policy engagement, capacity building, and storytelling. We believe that access to information, freedom of expression, and online safety are fundamental to human freedom.

Our theory of change is simple:

We build knowledge and networks → to strengthen resilience and community → to realize a safer, freer digital environment for all.

We investigate online harms, seek accountability, and support the communities most affected. Whether it’s tackling censorship through policy advocacy, building capacity to withstand digital threats, or unpacking the power structures behind harmful content, our approach is evidence-driven and people-focused.

We engage with communities at the intersection of media, technology and rights — from journalists and civil society to researchers and activists. We bridge local experiences to regional and global conversations, and bring global frameworks back as actionable strategies for communities on the ground.

Together with partners in Bangladesh and beyond, we work toward a future where digital spaces are inclusive, secure, and grounded in rights — where communities are not just connected, but protected and heard.

Team

We are a group of journalists, academics, and researchers that share a common vision to create solutions for a freer flow of facts and information in an accountable and equitable manner.

We have deep market understanding, not only of Bangladesh, but also other parts of Asia. We are rooted in the community we support, and driven by the same shared goals and commitment that drives them. Our strength lies in the trust, the community have on us.
